A individual from the Dutch posted a couple of photos of his vintage ref.1675 Rolex GMT-Master from 1960. This GMT-Master has a delightful ‘aged’ dial, that Rolex authorities bring up as a plated ‘tropical’ dial.
The phrasing on the dial are uncommon also, since it just says ‘Officially Certified Chronometer’ rather than the “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” phrasing. The reference before this one ( ref.6542 ) used to have this phrasing on the dial also. Before you think it is a more established dial in a more current case, it’s not, as the breadth of the dial is extraordinary. The proprietor of the watch asserts that this specific model was uniquely underway for under 12 months.
Please note the delightful smooth GMT-hand, pointed crown monitors on the actual watch and the huge Rolex logo on the clasp.
This weekend was the uncommon vintage Rolex Meeting in Maastricht, The Netherlands and I am energetically trusting that the primary pictures will spring up. I’m almost certain that more watches like the one above were available and captured by many. The gathering had unique visitors like George Band (one of the last living individuals from 1953 British Mount Everest Expedition), Peter Hillary, Jamling Norgay (the two children of..) and a great deal of different speakers. Tragically, the entire thing was coordinated a tad excessively close on BaselWorld, so I wasn’t ready to make it.
